Select the Ideal Screen Size for Your Fireplace
A. If you have an existing mesh screen:
1. Measure the height of your screen in inches.
2. Measure the width of your screen in inches.
Do NOT include the hanger ring in your vertical measurement.
So, if the height of your existing mesh screen measures 26 inches, and the total width measures 40 inches, choose the following in the drop down “Select Size” box on the Condar Fireplace Screens Order Page:
two 24" wide panels, 26" tall
When measuring the height of your existing mesh screen,
DO NOT include the hanger ring!
B. If you do not have an existing mesh screen:
1. Determine how the screen will hang. Do you already have a rod installed? If not, it is recommended that you order a Condar Fireplace Rod and Valance Kit. For screen sizing for installation in the Valance Kit, click here.
If you already have a rod installed:
2. Measure the width of your fireplace opening in inches.
3. Measure the height of your fireplace opening in inches. Allow ½ inch for the hanger ring below the rod, and approximately ⅛ inch clearance at the bottom. (The height measurement of Condar screens does not include ½-inch hanger ring, so don’t forget to subtract ½ inch from the vertical measurement of your fireplace opening.)
So, if the height of your fireplace opening measures 28 inches, and the total width measures 38 inches, choose the following in the drop down “Select Size” box on the Condar Fireplace Screens Order Page
:
two 24" wide panels, 28" tall
Note: Standard Condar Screen sizes range from 16-inches through 36-inches tall. If your fireplace opening is wider than 45 inches or taller than 36 inches, please visit our Custom Fireplace Screens Page.
